All meals provided to students will meet, at a minimum, the nutrition requirements established by the USDA for the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and the School Breakfast Program (SBP).

All foods and beverages sold separate from school meals during the school day will meet USDA Smart Snacks requirements.

Offer versus Serve (OVS)

Our schools have implemented "offer versus serve" (OVS), which allows students to decline some of the foods offered in a meal. The goal of OVS is to reduce food waste by allowing students to decline foods they don't intend to eat. At breakfast, students must be offered at least four food items and must select at least three food items, one of which must be 1/2 cup of fruit or vegetable. At lunch, students must be offered all five food groups/components and must select at least three of the five, one of which must be 1/2 cup of fruit or vegetable.

The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:
